Custom acrylic binder clips for stationery brands, indie illustrators producing organized-life merch, brand teams making office gift sets, K-pop and pop-fan brands creating collectible accessories, and creators whose product line needs a useful daily-carry object that doubles as branded display. Each clip is two layers of clear acrylic sandwiching your full-color art, with a sturdy metal binder clip embedded in the center.
Alchemy is a production partner built by artists, musicians, and brand owners. We've helped creators produce over 5 million custom products since 2019, and we don't operate like a promotional products company. Whether you're an indie illustrator running your first 50-piece drop, a band making merch for a tour, or a designer ordering for a brand launch, our job is the same: make the best merch we can for you.
What acrylic binder clips actually are
The clip is built like a small two-sided acrylic charm with a functional metal clip in the middle. Two outer acrylic layers carry your printed artwork on both faces, with the metal clip mechanism embedded between or around them. Open the clip mechanism the same way you'd open a standard binder clip — pinch the metal arms — and clip onto papers, packaging, gift wraps, or anywhere a regular binder clip works. Reads as a real branded object that customers will actually use rather than as ornamental merch that gets tucked away.
Customization options
Two-sided artwork (default)
Default is full-color art printed on both outward-facing acrylic panels. Same design on both sides, or different art on each face — your choice. Standard hardware option.
Inside clip area printing (optional)
Some buyers want artwork printed inside the clip area itself (the section visible only when the clip is opened). Available on request — useful for hidden-detail designs, secret messages, or brand marks that surprise on opening. Email us in your order notes if you want this.
Glitter epoxy
Adds a sparkling layer over the printed front of the clip. Same option available on our acrylic charms; reads as a tactile sparkle finish.
Holographic paper accents
Holographic paper layered into the design for shifting rainbow shimmer effects. Works best on darker artwork where the holographic shift contrasts.

How a run actually works
Most orders start with a quote, not a cart. You send us your artwork, and we come back with pricing, a production timeline, and any production notes within a business day or two. We'll flag anything in the file that won't translate well at production size before we move forward.
From proof approval, most overseas products are about a month to your door. That's the nature of producing 100% custom merchandise overseas vs. shipping a stock promotional item. Shipping is express and included in the price.
If you have a hard deadline, tell us before you order. We don't charge rush fees. We'll either confirm we can hit your date or tell you up front that we can't, so you can plan around it.
Why our minimum is 50
It's a factory math thing, not a quality stance. The factories we work with charge a labor minimum that covers setup, mold use, proofing, and the production run itself. That floor barely changes between a 25-piece and a 50-piece order, so a 25-piece run costs almost the same as 50 with half the output. 50 is where the per-piece price actually starts to make sense.
We can run smaller hard sample runs if you really need to (the factory will do it), but it's not financially viable for most people: you're paying close to 50-piece pricing for a fraction of the output. If you're set on a small run, email us first and we'll walk through whether it's worth it. Larger runs (100, 200, and up) bring the per-piece cost down meaningfully.
Who we work with
Artists running their own work: illustrators, bands, indie brand owners, podcasters, comic creators, convention sellers. Designers ordering for a brand launch, an event, a campaign, or a customer giveaway. Agencies and design studios producing merch for their clients. Merch companies running production for the artists they represent. The common thread is that the merch matters: it's representing a brand, a band, an artist, or a project that someone cares about.

Common questions
How is this different from a regular acrylic charm?
Acrylic charms are decorative pieces with hardware (keyring, lobster claw) for hanging. Acrylic binder clips have a functional metal binder clip embedded in the center — they actually clip onto things. Same printing process and aesthetic, different hardware and use case. More on standard acrylic charms here.
Will the clip mechanism hold up to daily use?
The embedded metal clip uses standard binder-clip construction — same as the office-supply binder clips you've used for years. With normal use it holds shape and grip indefinitely. The acrylic outer panels protect the metal mechanism rather than depending on it for durability.
Can I print on the inside of the clip area?
Yes, for an additional cost. Default print is on the two outward-facing acrylic panels; inside-area printing is an upgrade that adds a hidden detail visible only when the clip is opened. Specify in your order notes if you want this.
What artwork format works best?
High-resolution raster (300 DPI at print size) with transparent background, PSD or PNG. Vector also works. CMYK preferred; RGB converts and we proof carefully.
How long do acrylic binder clips take?
About four weeks from proof approval to your door, including express shipping. No rush fees.
Do I see a proof before production?
Yes. Digital proof for review before printing. Revisions until you approve.
Are these made in the USA?
Acrylic binder clips are produced overseas at long-vetted factories. Our team is US-based and handles file prep, proofing, and customer success. Our wooden products and stickers are made in the USA.
