Custom woven jacquard beanies for fashion brands, music merch lines, ski/snow brands, streetwear designers, and creators whose audience wants premium branded headwear with a distinctive textile look. Woven jacquard construction creates a textured, slightly pixelated appearance that reads as crafted rather than printed — unlike embroidered or screen-printed beanies, the design is woven INTO the fabric itself rather than applied on top.

Alchemy is a production partner built by artists, musicians, and brand owners. We've helped creators produce over 5 million custom products since 2019, and we don't operate like a promotional products company. Whether you're an indie illustrator running your first 50-piece drop, a band making merch for a tour, or a designer ordering for a brand launch, our job is the same: make the best merch we can for you.

What woven jacquard actually is

Jacquard weaving is a textile process where the design is created by varying the colored threads as the fabric is woven. Each pixel of the design is essentially one thread crossing one row, which gives the finished beanie its characteristic detailed-but-textured look. Designs translate as woven thread, not as printed surface — meaning they hold up against everyday wear, washing, and weather without any risk of fading or peeling.

The tradeoff: jacquard requires designs that translate to the woven format. Very fine details get lost in the thread crossings, and complex gradients can't be reproduced (each color is a discrete thread, not a printed gradient). For full-color photo-realistic art on a beanie, see our embroidered beanies instead.

How a run actually works

Most orders start with a quote, not a cart. You send us your artwork, and we come back with pricing, a production timeline, and any production notes within a business day or two. We'll flag anything in the file that won't translate well at production size before we move forward.

From proof approval, most overseas products are about a month to your door. That's the nature of producing 100% custom merchandise overseas vs. shipping a stock promotional item. Shipping is express and included in the price.

If you have a hard deadline, tell us before you order. We don't charge rush fees. We'll either confirm we can hit your date or tell you up front that we can't, so you can plan around it.

Why our beanie minimum is 100

Beanies have a higher MOQ floor than our other products because the production process — yarn sourcing, jacquard weaving or embroidery setup, knitted construction, finishing — has more independent steps than printing on a flat substrate. Each step has its own setup cost. Below 100 units, the per-beanie price climbs sharply because the setup is amortized over too few pieces. 100 is where the math works. Larger runs (200, 500, 1000+) bring the per-beanie cost down meaningfully.

Who we work with

Artists running their own work: illustrators, bands, indie brand owners, podcasters, comic creators, convention sellers. Designers ordering for a brand launch, an event, a campaign, or a customer giveaway. Agencies and design studios producing merch for their clients. Merch companies running production for the artists they represent. The common thread is that the merch matters: it's representing a brand, a band, an artist, or a project that someone cares about.

Common questions

What's the difference between jacquard and embroidered beanies?

Jacquard weaves the design INTO the fabric using colored threads — the design is part of the beanie's structure. Embroidered stitches the design ON TOP of the beanie surface in thread. Jacquard reads as more crafted-textile and won't fade or peel; embroidered handles more complex artwork and reads more like applied branding. More on embroidered beanies here.

What kind of artwork works best for jacquard?

Bold designs with strong color contrast and limited detail. Logos, text-driven designs, and graphic illustrations all work well. Photo-realistic art, gradients, and very fine detail don't translate to the woven format. We'll review your file at proofing and tell you honestly if your design needs simplification.

How many colors can I use?

Jacquard supports multiple colors in the woven design. The exact count depends on your specific design complexity; email us with your artwork for an exact quote.

Will the design wash out?

No. Because the design is woven INTO the fabric (not printed on top), there's nothing that can wash out, fade, peel, or crack. The colors are part of the threads themselves.

How long do jacquard beanies take?

About four weeks from proof approval to your door, including express shipping. No rush fees.

Do I see a proof before production?

Yes. Digital proof showing how your design translates to the woven jacquard format. Revisions until you approve.

Are these made in the USA?

Beanies are produced overseas at long-vetted factories. Our team is US-based and handles file prep, proofing, and customer success. Our wooden products and stickers are made in the USA.
