What burned wooden stickers actually are

Burned wooden stickers are real cherry wood, cut into sticker-shaped pieces, with your design laser-burned into the wood surface. There's no ink involved — the burn itself is the design. The result is a permanent two-tone contrast where the burned areas are darker (the cherry's natural reaction to heat) and the unburned wood stays its natural light cherry color. Each sticker has 3M adhesive on the back so it sticks to water bottles, laptops, journals, packaging, and other smooth surfaces.

What artwork works best for burning

Bold designs, strong logos, illustration with high contrast, and clean line work all read well as a burn. Anything that depends on color, gradient, or fine subtle shading won't translate — the burn is single-tone, dark on light.

Very fine line work (under about 1mm at print size) tends to char during the burn process and can come out muddy. Send us your file and we'll tell you honestly if any details need to be adjusted before production.

Why our wooden sticker minimum is 25

Wooden stickers come out of the same US wood shop as our wooden pins, which means we're not running into the same factory labor minimums that set the 50-piece floor on overseas products. 25-piece runs are economically reasonable here in a way they wouldn't be for vinyl stickers or overseas products. Mix multiple designs within one order as long as each design hits the 25-piece minimum at the same size range.

Common questions

Will the wood get damaged in water?

Cherry wood handles incidental moisture (rain, condensation, hand-washing) but isn't designed for prolonged submersion or dishwasher cycles. For water bottle use, the sticker holds up fine through normal hand-washing. Run it through a dishwasher repeatedly and the wood will eventually swell and lift.

Will the burned design fade?

No. The burn is a permanent change to the wood structure, not a print layer that can fade. UV exposure won't affect it the way it does ink.

How does the sticker wrap around a curved surface like a water bottle?

The wood is cut thin enough and along the grain that it stays flexible. You can curve it gently around bottle bodies, mug handles, and other curved surfaces. For sharper curves (a tight cylinder under ~3" diameter), the wood will start to crack — best to size the sticker so it fits flat against most of the surface.

Can I mix multiple designs in one order?

Yes. Mix multiple designs as long as each design hits 25 pieces minimum and they're all in the same size range.
