Custom single-sided acrylic charms for keychains, bag tags, zipper pulls, and brand merchandise. Single-sided means the artwork prints on the front face only, with a clean solid white back. More economical than two-sided printing because we only need one artwork file and one print pass, and the clean white back reads as a finished product rather than an unfinished one.
Alchemy is a production partner built by artists, musicians, and brand owners. We've helped creators produce over 5 million custom products since 2019, and we don't operate like a promotional products company. Whether you're an indie illustrator running your first 50-piece drop, a band making merch for a tour, or a designer ordering for a brand launch, our job is the same: make the best merch we can for you.
What single-sided acrylic charms are
An acrylic charm is a piece of clear acrylic shaped to your artwork's outline, with full-color printing on the surface and protected by additional acrylic or sealant. "Single-sided" means we print on the front face only; the back is sealed with a clean solid white finish. The white back works well when the charm is going to be visible primarily from the front (clipped to a bag, displayed on a hook, sitting flat on a table) and you want a clean, retail-finished look without paying for a second-side print.
If you want different artwork on each face, see our two-sided acrylic charms page. Two-sided costs more but gives you a full design on both faces.
Single board vs double board
Single board
The standard. Front is your printed clear acrylic, back is sealed with a textured back layer in solid white. Lighter, slightly thinner, more economical. Works well for everyday charms where weight and price matter.
Double board
Two layers of clear acrylic with the print sandwiched between them, with the back board finished in solid white. Slightly heavier, more substantial in hand, with a touch more visible depth than single board. Pick this when you want the charm to feel premium or want extra durability.
Glitter epoxy (single board only)
Adds a sparkling layer over the printed front of a single-board charm. Adds shimmer without changing the artwork itself. Not available on double board.
The bleed thing, briefly
Every acrylic charm has a 3mm bleed of clear acrylic around the edge of your art. That's not optional, it's a manufacturing requirement to keep the cut clean. So if you order a 2" charm, your art prints at about 1.75" and the remaining 6mm is the clear acrylic edge. We handle this in file prep, so you don't need to design around it.

How a run actually works
Most orders start with a quote, not a cart. You send us your artwork (vector, raster, sketch, Procreate file, whatever you have), and we come back with pricing, a production timeline, and any production notes within a business day or two. We'll flag anything in the file that won't translate well at production size before we move forward, so you're not surprised at proof.
From proof approval, most overseas products are about three weeks to your door for acrylic charms. That's the nature of producing 100% custom merchandise overseas vs. shipping a stock promotional item. Shipping is express and included in the price.
If you have a hard deadline, tell us before you order. We don't charge rush fees. We'll either confirm we can hit your date or tell you up front that we can't, so you can plan around it.
Why our minimum is 50
It's a factory math thing, not a quality stance. The factories we work with charge a labor minimum that covers setup, mold use, proofing, and the production run itself. That floor barely changes between a 25-piece and a 50-piece order, so a 25-piece run costs almost the same as 50 with half the output. 50 is where the per-piece price actually starts to make sense.
We can run smaller hard sample runs if you really need to (the factory will do it), but it's not financially viable for most people: you're paying close to 50-piece pricing for a fraction of the output. If you're set on a small run, email us first and we'll walk through whether it's worth it. Larger runs (100, 200, and up) bring the per-piece cost down meaningfully.
Who we work with
Artists running their own work: illustrators, bands, indie brand owners, podcasters, comic creators, convention sellers. Designers ordering for a brand launch, an event, a campaign, or a customer giveaway. Agencies and design studios producing merch for their clients. Merch companies running production for the artists they represent. The common thread is that the merch matters: it's representing a brand, a band, an artist, or a project that someone cares about.

Common questions
What does the back look like?
Solid white. Clean and retail-finished. The texture is the same as our two-sided charm backs but without any printed art on it.
Can I do single-sided with a colored back instead of white?
White is the standard back finish. Custom back colors are possible on larger orders; email us with your specific color request and quantity for a quote.
How is single-sided different from two-sided?
Single-sided prints on the front only with a white back. Two-sided prints on both faces (front and back), letting you do different designs or mirror the same design. Single-sided is more economical because there's only one print pass and one artwork file. More on two-sided acrylic charms here.
Can the charm shape have cutouts in the middle?
No, the charm is cut to a single outline only. You can leave parts of the design intentionally transparent (a donut shape with clear acrylic in the center, for example), but the acrylic body stays solid.
What hardware comes attached?
Default is a metal keyring. We can also do ball chain, lobster claw, lanyard strap, or phone-strap loop on request. Tell us in the order notes which hardware you want.
What file format should I send?
PSD with transparent background at 300 DPI or higher is ideal. PNG with transparent background, vector files, or high-resolution JPG also work. The print is CMYK; RGB files convert and we proof carefully.
If I order two designs of 50 each, is that priced as 100?
No, each design is its own run because each one needs separate file setup and production. Quote two 50-piece runs separately.
How long do single-sided acrylic charms take?
About three weeks from proof approval to your door, including express shipping. No rush fees.
Do I see a proof before production?
Yes. Digital proof for review before printing. Revisions until you approve.
Are acrylic charms made in the USA?
Acrylic charms are produced overseas at long-vetted factories. Our team is US-based and handles file prep, proofing, and customer success on every order. Our wooden products and stickers are made in the USA.
