Description
Custom hard enamel stitch markers, zipper pulls, and shoe charms for knitters, crocheters, fiber arts brands, indie illustrators, and yarn shops. Each piece is sized at the small end of our enamel range (0.75"-1.25" most common) with a 12mm Huggie Hoop attachment ready to clip onto a knitting needle, project bag, zipper, or shoelace. Same hard enamel process as our pins, just sized small and finished as wearable accessories.
Alchemy is a production partner built by artists, musicians, and brand owners. We've helped creators produce over 5 million custom products since 2019, and we don't operate like a promotional products company. Whether you're an indie illustrator running your first 50-piece drop, a band making merch for a tour, or a designer ordering for a brand launch, our job is the same: make the best merch we can for you.
What these are good for
Stitch markers, zipper pulls, and shoe charms all use the same physical product — a small hard enamel pendant with a 12mm Huggie Hoop. The use case varies by audience:
- Stitch markers for knitters and crocheters — clip onto a needle or hook to mark pattern positions, count rows, or note where a section starts
- Zipper pulls — replace the standard plastic or metal zipper tab on bags, jackets, hoodies, and pouches with a branded design
- Shoe charms — clip onto shoelaces or shoe eyelets (different attachment style from our PVC shoe charms for Crocs, which use a snap-clip backing instead)
- Project bag charms / craft accessories — clip onto a craft project bag, embroidery hoop, or sewing kit as a visible accessory
What hard enamel actually is
Hard enamel is colored enamel filled into a metal mold and baked at high temperature, then buffed flat after cooling. The enamel sits flush with the raised metal lines, giving a smooth, jewelry-quality surface. Most polished of the three options. Best for designs where you want the small charm to read as real jewelry rather than as a craft-style pin.
What you get
- Construction: hard enamel
- Size range: 0.75"-1.25" most common (smaller scales the per-piece cost up because the labor floor is the same regardless of size)
- Attachment: 12mm Huggie Hoop included, clips onto needles, zippers, laces, hoops, or hardware
- Custom mold creation included in the price
- Mold, production, and express shipping included
Other stitch marker / shoe charm options we offer
- Hard enamel stitch markers — smooth jewelry-quality finish, the most polished look
- Soft enamel stitch markers — raised metal lines and recessed color; tactile texture, free epoxy coating
- UV-printed stitch markers — full-color photo-realistic detail printed directly on metal
How a run actually works
Most orders start with a quote, not a cart. You send us your artwork (vector preferred for clean lines, raster works for full-color), and we come back with pricing, a production timeline, and any production notes within a business day or two. We'll flag anything in the file that won't translate well at production size before we move forward.
From proof approval, most overseas products are about a month to your door. That's the nature of producing 100% custom merchandise overseas vs. shipping a stock promotional item. Shipping is express and included in the price.
If you have a hard deadline, tell us before you order. We don't charge rush fees. We'll either confirm we can hit your date or tell you up front that we can't, so you can plan around it.
Why our minimum is 50
It's a factory math thing, not a quality stance. The factories we work with charge a labor minimum that covers setup, mold use, proofing, and the production run itself. That floor barely changes between a 25-piece and a 50-piece order, so a 25-piece run costs almost the same as 50 with half the output. 50 is where the per-piece price actually starts to make sense.
We can run smaller hard sample runs if you really need to (the factory will do it), but it's not financially viable for most people: you're paying close to 50-piece pricing for a fraction of the output. If you're set on a small run, email us first and we'll walk through whether it's worth it. Larger runs (100, 200, and up) bring the per-piece cost down meaningfully.
Who we work with
Knitters, crocheters, and fiber arts brands selling stitch markers as retail products or pattern add-ons. Indie illustrators producing fan-art zipper pulls and shoe charms for convention runs. Yarn shops and pattern designers building branded accessory lines. Anyone whose audience overlaps with knitting, crochet, embroidery, or general fiber craft and wants a small-format custom enamel product to attach to a project bag, zipper, shoelace, or stitch counter.

Common questions
How small can I go?
0.75" is the smallest we recommend at standard pricing. Smaller is technically possible but the per-piece price climbs (the factory labor floor is the same regardless of size) and very small details can muddy in the mold. For sizes under 0.75", email us first and we'll talk through whether the design will work.
What's a 12mm Huggie Hoop?
A small metal hoop (about half-inch diameter) with a snap closure that "hugs" closed when clipped. Strong enough to hold securely but easy to open and close by hand. Standard hardware on stitch markers, zipper pulls, and similar small charms.
What's the difference between hard, soft, and UV-printed stitch markers?
Hard enamel is buffed smooth, jewelry-style polished surface. Soft enamel keeps the metal lines raised with recessed color (tactile texture). UV printed prints full color directly on flat metal (best for photo-realistic art). Pick based on the look that fits your audience and brand.
Can I do specialty inks like glitter or glow?
Yes. Glitter enamel and glow-in-the-dark inks are available; pricing varies by complexity. Email us for an exact quote on specialty inks.
Can I do print variants on the same shape?
Yes. Simple variants are no problem with at least 50 per color way. Lots of variants change the math; email us for a quote on specific splits.
How are these different from our PVC shoe charms?
Our PVC shoe charms are molded plastic with a snap-clip backing designed to fit Crocs and similar perforated shoes. The hard enamel version on this page is metal with a Huggie Hoop attachment that clips onto laces, hardware, or eyelets — a different attachment style and a different aesthetic. Pick PVC for Croc compatibility, pick hard enamel for metal-jewelry-style accessories.
How long do orders take?
About four weeks from proof approval to your door, including express shipping. No rush fees.
Do I see a proof before production?
Yes. Digital proof for review before production is scheduled. Revisions until you approve.
Are these made in the USA?
Stitch markers and shoe charms are produced overseas at long-vetted factories. Our team is US-based and handles file prep, proofing, and customer success. Our wooden products and stickers are made in the USA.
