Description

Custom hard enamel charms for zipper pulls, stitch markers, jewelry, and keychain add-ons. These are small hard enamel pieces, the same process as our pins, sized down and finished with the attachment that fits how you will use them. They also make one of the easiest, lowest-cost add-ons to a keychain or pin order.

Alchemy is a production partner built by artists, musicians, and brand owners. We've helped creators produce over 5 million custom products since 2019, and we don't operate like a promotional products company. Whether you're an indie illustrator running your first 50-piece drop, a band making merch for a tour, or a designer ordering for a brand launch, our job is the same: make the best merch we can for you.

Design Templates

Set up your artwork at the correct size with proper bleed and safe zones using our production templates. Vector files (PDF/AI/EPS) are preferred for clean lines and scaling. Raster (PSD) works for full-color artwork at 300dpi.

One small charm, three ways to use it

Every piece is the same small charm. The attachment style you choose sets how it gets used:

  • Jump Ring (Charm): a small metal ring (like a keychain ring) that connects the charm to a keychain, bracelet, or bag
  • Lobster Claw (Zipper Pull): clips onto zippers, bags, jackets, and pouches, and comes off easily to move between items
  • Huggie Hoop (Stitch Marker): the knitter and crocheter favorite, clips onto a needle or hook to mark a spot in a pattern

They also pair especially well with a keychain order. If you are already running a custom keychain, a matching mini charm rounds out the set at a low per-piece cost.

What hard enamel actually is

Hard enamel is colored enamel filled into a metal mold and baked at high temperature, then buffed flat after cooling. The enamel sits flush with the raised metal lines, giving a smooth, jewelry-quality surface. It is the most polished of the three options, best for designs where you want the charm to read as real jewelry rather than as a craft-style pin.

What you get

  • Construction: hard enamel
  • Size range: 0.75" to 1.25" most common (going smaller scales the per-piece cost up because the labor floor is the same regardless of size)
  • Attachment: your choice of Jump Ring, Lobster Claw, or Huggie Hoop, included
  • Custom mold creation included in the price
  • Mold, production, and express shipping included

The three finishes we offer

How a run actually works

Most orders start with a quote, not a cart. You send us your artwork (vector preferred for clean lines, raster works for full-color), and we come back with pricing, a production timeline, and any production notes within a business day or two. We'll flag anything in the file that won't translate well at production size before we move forward.

From proof approval, most overseas products are about a month to your door. That's the nature of producing 100% custom merchandise overseas vs. shipping a stock promotional item. Shipping is express and included in the price.

If you have a hard deadline, tell us before you order. We don't charge rush fees. We'll either confirm we can hit your date or tell you up front that we can't, so you can plan around it.

Why our minimum is 50

It's a factory math thing, not a quality stance. The factories we work with charge a labor minimum that covers setup, mold use, proofing, and the production run itself. That floor barely changes between a 25-piece and a 50-piece order, so a 25-piece run costs almost the same as 50 with half the output. 50 is where the per-piece price actually starts to make sense.

We can run smaller hard sample runs if you really need to (the factory will do it), but it's not financially viable for most people. You're paying close to 50-piece pricing for a fraction of the output. If you're set on a small run, email us first and we'll walk through whether it's worth it. Larger runs (100, 200, and up) bring the per-piece cost down meaningfully.

Who we work with

Indie illustrators and brands producing enamel charms and zipper pulls for their shops and convention runs. Knitters, crocheters, and fiber arts brands selling stitch markers as retail products or pattern add-ons. Anyone adding a small, low-cost custom charm onto a keychain, pin, or accessory line. If your audience wants a little custom piece to clip onto a bag, a zipper, or a project, this is it.

Common questions

Which attachment should I pick?

Three options, all included at the same price. Jump Ring for a classic hanging charm on a bracelet, necklace, or bag. Lobster Claw for a zipper pull or bag clip that comes off easily. Huggie Hoop for a stitch marker that clips onto a knitting needle or crochet hook. Not sure? Tell us how it will be used and we will recommend one.

How small can I go?

0.75" is the smallest we recommend at standard pricing. Smaller is technically possible but the per-piece price climbs (the factory labor floor is the same regardless of size) and very small details can muddy in the mold. For sizes under 0.75", email us first and we'll talk through whether the design will work.

What's the difference between hard, soft, and UV printed?

Hard enamel is buffed smooth for a jewelry-style polished surface. Soft enamel keeps the metal lines raised with recessed color for a tactile texture. UV printed prints full color directly on flat metal, best for photo-realistic art. Pick based on the look that fits your brand.

Can I do specialty inks like glitter or glow?

Yes. Glitter enamel and glow-in-the-dark inks are available, and pricing varies by complexity. Email us for an exact quote on specialty inks.

Can I do print variants on the same shape?

Yes. Simple variants are no problem with at least 50 per color way. Lots of variants change the math, so email us for a quote on specific splits.

How are these different from your PVC shoe charms?

Our PVC shoe charms are molded plastic with a snap-clip backing designed to fit Crocs and similar perforated shoes. The metal charm on this page uses a Jump Ring, Lobster Claw, or Huggie Hoop that clips onto laces, hardware, bags, or zippers instead. Pick PVC for Croc compatibility, pick this for a metal-and-enamel accessory.

How long do orders take?

About four weeks from proof approval to your door, including express shipping. No rush fees.

Do I see a proof before production?

Yes. Digital proof for review before production is scheduled. Revisions until you approve.

Are these made in the USA?

These charms are produced overseas at long-vetted factories. Our team is US-based and handles file prep, proofing, and customer success. Our wooden products and stickers are made in the USA.
