What custom magnets actually are
Magnets use a vinyl substrate with magnetic backing built into the material. We print your full-color design on the vinyl surface, finish with a protective laminate, and die-cut to your shape. The magnet sticks to any steel surface (refrigerators, locker doors, file cabinets, magnetic whiteboards, car bodies if you upsize to bumper magnet thickness) and removes cleanly without residue. Semi-gloss laminate
Shiny, rich finish that lets colors pop. Most popular for branded fridge magnets and retail giveaways. 6mil total thickness.
Matte laminate
Softens colors and minimizes glare. Reads more sophisticated and refined. Same 6mil thickness, different aesthetic.

How a magnet run works

Why our magnet minimum is 50
Vinyl magnets are produced in the USA, so we're not running into the same overseas factory minimums that drive the 50-piece floor on enamel pins or keychains. The 50-piece magnet minimum exists because each design needs its own print setup, color calibration, cut path, and laminate run. Below 50, the per-piece cost climbs sharply because the setup gets amortized over too few units. Larger runs (100, 250, 500, 1000 and up) bring the per-piece price down meaningfully.
One rule that matches our other vinyl products: each magnet order is a single design. We can't combine multiple designs into one order. If you have three designs at 50 each, that's three separate orders.

Common questions
What surfaces will magnets stick to?
Any steel-bodied surface (refrigerators, file cabinets, lockers, magnetic whiteboards, most car bodies). They won't stick to aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, or wood. If you're not sure, the easiest test is to put any household magnet against the surface — if it sticks, ours will too.
How long do magnets last?
Indoor use lasts essentially indefinitely. The magnetic backing doesn't weaken over time with normal use, and the protective laminate prevents UV fade. Heavy outdoor exposure (constant sun, rain, freezing temperatures) can eventually wear the surface, but for indoor-only fridge or office use, the magnets stay vibrant for years.
Can I split my order across multiple designs?
No. Each order is a single design only — same as our other vinyl products. We can't combine multiple designs into one production run because each design needs its own print setup and cut path.
What sizes can you make?

What's the difference between these magnets and bumper magnets?
These are 1mm thick, designed for indoor use on standard surfaces. Bumper magnets are 6mil outdoor-grade vinyl designed to survive automotive use, weather, and abrasion. Pick this product for everyday indoor magnets; pick bumper magnets for cars, trucks, food trucks, or outdoor display.
