Custom wall tapestries for indie illustrators selling large-format art prints, brand teams producing retail wall decor, music merch (band-themed wall hangings), college dorm and hostel chains buying branded room decor, ritual and witchcraft brands selling altar tapestries, and creators whose audience wants their art on the wall at meaningful scale. Each tapestry is printed in full color on durable polyester fabric, sized for wall hanging, with finished edges and reinforced hanging points.

Alchemy is a production partner built by artists, musicians, and brand owners. We've helped creators produce over 5 million custom products since 2019, and we don't operate like a promotional products company. Whether you're an indie illustrator running your first 50-piece drop, a band making merch for a tour, or a designer ordering for a brand launch, our job is the same: make the best merch we can for you.

What custom wall tapestries are

A wall tapestry is a large-format printed fabric wall hanging — your artwork reproduced at room-scale size, printed edge-to-edge on lightweight polyester, with finished hems and hanging points so it can be mounted with pins, command strips, or a curtain rod through a top sleeve. Reads as actual wall art rather than as a printed cloth, but at significantly lower cost than canvas prints or traditional framing because there's no rigid backing or framing involved.

Common use cases: indie art prints scaled to room size, dorm decor, hostels with themed rooms, brand merchandise that lives on the wall (band-themed tapestries, artist convention drops, fan-art wall hangings), ritual altar cloths displayed on walls instead of folded, retail visual merchandising, and art-print product lines where the buyer wants something larger than a poster.

How a run actually works

Most orders start with a quote, not a cart. You send us your artwork, and we come back with pricing, a production timeline, and any production notes within a business day or two. We'll flag anything in the file that won't translate well at production size before we move forward.

From proof approval, most overseas products are about a month to your door. That's the nature of producing 100% custom merchandise overseas vs. shipping a stock promotional item. Shipping is express and included in the price.

If you have a hard deadline, tell us before you order. We don't charge rush fees. We'll either confirm we can hit your date or tell you up front that we can't, so you can plan around it.

Why our minimum is 50

It's a factory math thing, not a quality stance. The factories we work with charge a labor minimum that covers setup, mold use, proofing, and the production run itself. That floor barely changes between a 25-piece and a 50-piece order, so a 25-piece run costs almost the same as 50 with half the output. 50 is where the per-piece price actually starts to make sense.

We can run smaller hard sample runs if you really need to (the factory will do it), but it's not financially viable for most people: you're paying close to 50-piece pricing for a fraction of the output. If you're set on a small run, email us first and we'll walk through whether it's worth it. Larger runs (100, 200, and up) bring the per-piece cost down meaningfully.

Who we work with

Artists running their own work: illustrators, bands, indie brand owners, podcasters, comic creators, convention sellers. Designers ordering for a brand launch, an event, a campaign, or a customer giveaway. Agencies and design studios producing merch for their clients. Merch companies running production for the artists they represent. The common thread is that the merch matters: it's representing a brand, a band, an artist, or a project that someone cares about.

Common questions

What sizes do you make?

Standard tapestry sizes range from medium wall-art (~90cm × 130cm / 35" × 51") up to large room-spanning sizes (over 150cm × 200cm / 60" × 80"). Custom dimensions are available on request — email us with your size specs and quantity for an exact quote.

How do tapestries hang?

Most customers hang tapestries with thumbtacks, pushpins, or removable command strips through the corner reinforcements. We can also add a top sleeve for rod hanging if you want a more polished installation. Specify in your order notes.

Can the print survive on a wall over time?

Yes. The sublimation dye bonds permanently with the polyester fibers and won't fade or peel under normal indoor light conditions. Direct prolonged sunlight can eventually fade colors over years (this is true of any printed product), but indoor wall display lasts indefinitely.

What artwork format works best?

Very high-resolution raster (300 DPI at the final print size — at tapestry dimensions, this means substantial file sizes). Vector with embedded raster also works for designs that include rasterized elements. Designs need to scale up well — anything that looks pixelated at small size will look much worse at tapestry scale.

How long do tapestries take?

About four weeks from proof approval to your door, including express shipping. No rush fees.

Do I see a proof before production?

Yes. Digital proof for review before printing. Revisions until you approve.

Can the back of the tapestry be plain or printed?

Standard is single-sided printing — the back is plain white polyester. Double-sided printing is available on request for an additional cost.

Are these made in the USA?

Tapestries are produced overseas at long-vetted factories. Our team is US-based and handles file prep, proofing, and customer success. Our wooden products and stickers are made in the USA.
