How do the magnets work? For needle minders to work properly, we need to use a zinc alloy mold and raw casting for the pins because it is not magnetic. They will glue a magnet to the back side of the pin and supply a 2nd magnet so that you can remove one to be able to put it on the other side of something and they draw to each other.
Standard Neodymium vs n52 grade
The main advantage of N52 is miniaturization. If you are making a slim needle minder—you can use a tiny N52 magnet to get the same "grip" that would require a much larger, bulkier N35 magnet.
N52 is often considered "overkill" for general household use. Because it uses a higher concentration of neodymium and requires more precise manufacturing, the price jump can be significant. For most hobbyist crafts (like fridge magnets or basic closures), N35 or N42 provides more than enough strength at half the cost.
