Custom Embroidered Patches
Custom embroidered patches for bands, brands, and the creative teams inside companies. We make patches in runs starting at 50-100, with iron-on, sew-on, patch keychains, or velcro backing depending on the garment and use case.
Embroidered, woven, and photo transfer. Each has a different look and works for different kinds of artwork. Embroidered is the classic thick-thread look. Woven gives you finer detail and sharper lines. Photo transfer is for full color and details. Most orders start with a quote, not a cart. Send us your artwork and we’ll come back with pricing, a timeline, and any production notes within a business day.

Learn more about the different ways to make custom embroidered patches
Four ways to make a custom patch. Each fits different artwork, different garments, and different budgets. Choose from 100% Embroidered, 50% Embroidered, Woven, or Photo Transfer.
100% Embroidered Custom Patches
The entire patch is stitched in thread for a rich, textured finish. The thickest, most durable build, best for bold shapes and limited color counts.
• Hot Cut Edge (Complex Shapes): Clean cut to the exact shape of your artwork, ideal for intricate designs.
• Iron-On Backing (Default): Standard on every order. Sew-on, velcro, or patch-keychain backing on request.
• Up to 8 Thread Colors: Included in base pricing.
• Heavyweight Durability: Thickest and most durable patch option.
• Classic Look: The traditional embroidered patch silhouette.
50% Embroidered Custom Patches
A flat twill background with raised embroidered elements. Balanced look, finer detail than 100% embroidered, classic patch feel.
• Twill Background: Durable textured fabric for a classic patch base.
• Raised Embroidery: Embroidered elements stand out against the twill for added dimension.
• Up to 8 Thread Colors: Included in base pricing.
• Medium Profile: Mix of flat and raised heights gives a balanced classic look.
• Ideal For: Apparel, bags, hats, and creator merch drops.
Woven Patches
Finely woven threads for the highest detail and clarity. Thinner, smoother feel than embroidered.
• Thin Profile: The thinnest patch option. Lightweight and sleek.
• High Detail Reproduction: Reproduces fine lines, small text, and intricate art that embroidery can't.
• Versatile Use: Apparel, bags, hats, and creator/brand merch.
Photo Transfer Patches
Captures every detail and gradient of your artwork with vibrant photo transfer. Best for full-color photographic art that can't be reproduced in thread.
• Print Your Artwork As-Is: Reproduce your original artwork exactly. No vector cleanup or thread-color simplification needed.
• High Detail Reproduction: Photographs, gradients, and complex full-color illustrations.

Frequently asked questions about custom patch production
Do I see a proof before they get made?
The factory will create a custom hard sample for you to review before full production begins. If we have an approval, they schedule the full run, but if we need changes, we can request them and get a new sample.
How long do custom patches take to make? And can you do rush orders?
Most patches take about a month from proof approval to shipment.
If you have a rush order, please email us and we will find out if it is doable for you. If we bypass a hard sample, it can knock off a solid week and woven patches can be rushed the easiest.
What happens after I order?
We will email you back confirming all details work as intended and then get the order submitted to the factory. After about a week, they will send us a picture of a hard sample patch to review. If you approve, we can schedule the full production, or we can make changes. Woven take a little longer to see the samples due to the process (closer to 10 days).
What kind of backing do they come with?
We use an iron on backing by default, but if you'd like velcro, sew on, sticker, please let us know. Velcro adds +$0.15 per patch.
Where are your products made/what’s the factory like?
Our patches are made in China, as almost all patches are (there are some factories who claim to produce them in the US, but it's false advertising. They have a US based team just like us, but hide the fact that they make the actual products in China). Many people think that Chinese factories are "sweatshops" or that they employ child labor or other unethical practices, but that couldn't be further from the truth.
Chinese manufacturing is a sophisticated, high tech industry that involves competitive local wages and teams of skilled engineers and artisans. It is akin to (or in many cases more advanced than) manufacturing processes and facilities in the US. Most of our products come from Chinese partners, except for stickers and wooden products which are made in the USA.
What happens if my order isn't made right?
We are making handmade products and things can go wrong. A color mixed up, the embroidery having small issues, etc. Any order made wrong or with issues can be either re-made or refunded with the bad product returned. We never want this to happen, but when it does, we have your back and it won't cost you anything.
Is there a discount on re-orders?
Patches do not require a mold like a pin does, so a reprint order will be the same cost as it's original order.
Are there discounts if I order a lot of designs at the same time?
We can always get an exact quote for you and when you have a lot of patches being made at the same time, they will benefit from shared shipping that will bring down your total cost.
We are happy to get quotes for any order directly from the factory. The pricing on this site has to assume it ships on it's own, but like any shipping, when you have more shipped together, it averages down per piece.
Art & Customization FAQs - Patches
Frequently Asked Questions about Customization options for custom patches
Can I do variants?
If you have variants, please email us for an exact quote. They will cost more because it's creating more labor and machine time by splitting up the production. It's not as much as doing separate patch orders, but it can add +$0.20 per or more to the price. It all depends on the split and complexity.
Can you do other things not listed, other quantities or more colors?
Yes! We can make any size, quantity or more colors (up to 12) for an additional cost.
How are the patches packaged?
Patches come packaged together in a larger pack, but are not individually packed. If you need each in it's own flap seal bag, we can do that for an added cost.
You can also opt to have your patches packaged on custom card backers, which are then slipped into cello bags (either regular, or “retail ready” with a hang tab on top.) This can be a great time-saver and is surprisingly affordable!
Will my art be taken/resold/ripped off?
We have a close relationship with our factories and they have a lot more to lose than gain by using anybody's designs for their own purposes. At our request, they don't even show our designs in their portfolio. Sadly, most times when a design is stolen, it's actually done by stealing an image online and tracing it, so we can't promise your design will never get copied, but we can promise our factory won't be the one doing it.
What is a merrowed edge?
A merrowed edge is a raised border that can work on simple shapes like a circle, rectangle, square, triangle, etc. This does not work on complex shapes.
What if my art is too detailed for the kind of patch I want?
If your art is too detailed for a 100% embroidered patch, but that's what you want, we'd need to reduce the details down to fit the medium.
Another option is to make them with a photo transfer style (looks similar to woven) and keep all of the details we need.
I have a pin and a patch of the same art, what do you suggest for the sizing?
It's not perfect math, but typically, if you 2x the size of a pin, it should work in an acceptable way as a patch. If your pin is 1.5", the patch probably needs to be around 3".
